Career Studies Certificate

Purpose: This career studies certificate is designed to prepare students to perform entry-level office functions. This is also an opportunity for career switchers who are seeking additional office and computer skills.
Program Objectives: Employers continue to expect an essential skill set for entry-level employee candidates. Potential entry-level job positions include assistants for various types of offices (i.e. public and private schools, business, dental, legal, human resources, insurance, banking, and small-business entrepreneurs).
Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet the requirements for admission to credit-level coursework established by the college.
Placement Requirements: Students who do not demonstrate readiness for college-level English will be required to select appropriate EDE 10 or ENG 111 /EDE 11* coursework in consultation with an advisor.
Students who do not demonstrate readiness for the college-level math will be required to will select appropriate MDE coursework in consultation with an advisor.
