Career Studies Certificate

Purpose: This Career Studies Certificate is designed to prepare individuals for an entry-level position in business, as well as helping current employees develop communication and computer skills. This short-term program can also serve as a foundation for students who wish to pursue a more in-depth AAS Management and/or AAS Accounting degree.
Program Objectives: This program is designed to prepare graduates to seek entry-level employment in a business and/or office setting. Students will complete coursework in business, communication and computer courses that will allow them to become MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) certified in multiple Microsoft programs.
Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet the requirements for admission to credit-level coursework established by the college.
Developmental Requirements: Students who do not place into college-level English will be required to take developmental courses.
Program Notes: Students in the Business Communication Career Studies Certificate Program may continue their studies and complete the AAS program in Management and/or Accounting in as few as three more semesters.
