Purpose: This curriculum is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a baccalaureate degree. The following engineering fields are supported by this program: aerospace and ocean, biological systems, chemical, civil and environmental, electrical and computer, engineering science and mechanics, industrial and systems engineering, material science, mechanical, mining and minerals.
A specialization is also available in computer science.
Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet the requirements for admission to credit-level coursework established by the college. This program is restricted to students eligible to enroll in MTH 263 .
Developmental Requirements: Students who do not place into college-level English will be required to take developmental courses.
Students who are not eligible for MTH 263 must demonstrate proficiency in developmental requirements MTE 1 , MTE 2 , MTE 3 , MTE 4 , MTE 5 , MTE 6 , MTE 7 , MTE 8 and MTE 9 and in Pre-Calculus with Trigonometry (MTH 167 ) prior to enrolling in this program. While a course may satisfy a requirement for a Virginia Western program, it may not fulfill a requirement at a four-year institution. Students who intend to transfer should verify specific program requirements with their four-year institution.
