PTH 151* - Musculoskeletal Structure and Function

Prerequisite(s): BIO 141* , SDV 101 ; CPR American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers; Acceptance to the Physical Therapist Assistant, A.A.S.  Program; Evidence of completion of Physical Therapist Assistant, A.A.S.  Program required documents.

Course Type: Not Intended for Transfer  

Description: Studies the human musculoskeletal system. Covers terms of position and movement, location and identification of specific bony landmarks, joint structure and design, ligaments, muscle origin, action and innervation, and emphasizes types of contraction.  Foundational information related to the neurological, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems will also be covered in this course. Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 4 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
