Mechatronics Systems Engineering Technology: Electrical Engineering Technology Specialization, A.A.S.

Purpose: Based on the Mechatronics technology parent program, this specialization  provides graduates with advanced electrical theory and hands-on practice in a wide range of subjects, including electrical and mechanical systems and devices, electronic circuits, power and machines, computer technology and telecommuncations. The Electronics specialization  focuses on  electrical design, analysis and test courses in place of the Mechatronics courses covering advanced manufacturing.

Program Objectives: Entry-level or advanced opportunities as electrical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering  technicians who assist in identifying and solving problems with electrical equipment and systems found in industrial,  commercial plants or laboratories. Job tasks include evaluating performance or developmental parts; electrical component assembly; calibrating, maintaining and repair of electrical instruments; preparing technical reports; and analyzing test information to resolve design-related problems.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet the requirements for admission to credit-level coursework established by the college.

Developmental Requirements: Students who do not place into college-level English will be required to take developmental courses.

Students who do not demonstrate proficiency in MTE 1 , MTE 2 , MTE 3 , MTE 4 , MTE 5  and MTE 6  will be required to take developmental courses.

It is strongly recommended that developmental education requirements be completed as soon as possible.
